The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad- Twinkle Khanna

This book is divided into four anecdotes where all the heroes of the story held the motto of “Be You”. She portrays courage, dedication and camaraderie through her stories around subjects which are conveniently couched and tabooed in our society.

A young girl who couldn’t see her sister’s misery went fearless and with her farsightedness brings prosperity for her sister and to every girl in the village.

An elderly woman living her life at her own condition but couldn’t express the love of her life and hold her emotions back with the thought of what society will think.
But ultimately she understands the real joy and lives with her man thinking we live life only once.

“Things have a way of turning up when they want to be found, though they may not always be the things you actually want to find.”

A girl who is not ready for marriage but with the pressure of parents of marriage hurriedly marries twice to miserable fail and finally leaves them both to get out of the suffocation to breathe of her own.

Why do people have to define relationships, underline each word till the paper gives way beneath

A mad guy yes that’s what people used to call him who went to all measures and extents so that he can give healthier life to woman. Despite this he was turned down by his family, friends and his wife who only accepted him when he was successful. The story of Padman played by Akshay Kumar in Bollywood movie.

In English there is a saying “when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”. But in India when life gives us lemons, we turn them into talismans threaded with chillies to protect us from the bumpy roads it takes us on.’

All these stories are bold and expresses freedom of thought and listening to one’s heart and not getting influenced by others.

A must read as the author infuses the right amount of rhythm in each short story.
